As a solo travel expert who has traveled the globe alone for 17 years, (and non stop), I feel very excited about the interest growing in the USA solo travel market. Yip, the Americans are beginning to taking notice of this hot topic. And, my little cupcake, you may be asking why? It is for one reason and one reason only, FREEDOM to be yourself. As was always intended.
Imagine a world of people flowing to any desired location, living life lightly. A lifestyle that encourages experiences, not possessions, a lifestyle promoting now, not the past, a lifestyle allowing thriving, and not surviving. Not convinced, sweetie? Well, have a look at some of Google’s hot trends. Intriguingly, the USA, always leading edge, are now taking notice. (Click to see stats). More on this below.
But first…in my quest to educate the world on the fabulous lifestyle available TODAY, not to mention the health benefits of ”me time”, I thought I’d create a few cute and cosy videos that really say it all. (best viewed on full screen).
made with love!
And why the USA Solo Travel Market Now?
Well, the United States has always been leading edge in creating. BUT, as I mentioned in my previous blog post Why The World Should Look To Italy, hard work and effort are no longer where they once were. What’s the point of working your pretty little ass off an entire lifetime just to get to retirement and not be in the best of shape. Not to mention you haven’t been enjoying the journey. You cannot have a happy ending to an unhappy journey! At the end of the day EVERYTHING you could ever want is for the feeling. Italy feels like a pro!
You see the Italians are a smart bunch of cookies. They have defied TECH pressures and conformity to global trends. They were hugely successful in doing the same with the ‘food noise’ that created obesity elsewhere. And they won! They get to bask in the slow life, and have abandoned any idea of fast living for a life of balance, beauty and wellbeing. Italia, amore, I salute you!
And let me point out that LONGEVITY is high in Italy. Oh, gosh, how I love the joyful rebel! Italy wants to spend 3 hours in bliss at a table of friends for a boozy, delish lunch. And all to the backdrop of a stunning landscape, while they ogle each other proudly as the best dressed people on the planet.
USA v Italy
- USA is incredibly accomplished go getters and creators of opportunity, fast paced, money machine, individualists (as it should be!), entrepreneur powerhouse.
- Italy is incredibly accomplished work life balancers and what matters the most, connection, community, health and wellbeing. Minimum effort, maximum satisfaction.
And Italy can up the ante with some entrepreneurship and teach the world on 3 things:
- how to dress like a god/goddess
- how to eat a lot and still stay slim
- how a nap in the middle of the day is a good thing!
There is no one better than the other and are both genius. In a world of constant expansion, one MUST change and perhaps we will see the USA solo travel market take to the new way of being ‘la dolce far niente’ or as they say in English, the sweetness of doing nothing! Halle-flippin-lujah to that!
Conclusion
I, for one, LOVE Americans and Italians. I could be the world’s first Ameritalian LOL if that existed. And just maybe that is where the world is going. No culture, but the world as one melting pot village where everyone gets to do exactly what they want. And where does the world begin? Solo travel, cutie pie!
Until next time, my little limoncello! XO
