An ode to solo travel? Yes an ode! As I sit quietly contemplating my 16 years of non stop solo traveling accompanied by my ever so British cup of tea and my heart full of new travel plans, I cannot help but feel incredibly blessed, lucky and appreciative at what I’ve achieved. Proud with a capital P, and eager with a double E! And best of all, I feel I’m just getting started.

With that being said my little cupcake, this feeling of wow, what a journey has influenced me to create something of inspiration for those thinking about a new adventure. I hope this will uplift you to embark on a life of your dreams no matter where they are!

There’s only one way, a wanderful way…

Ode To Solo Travel: A Wanderful Way

I sit at my desk, teased by the sky,

Do I truly live life, and if not, but why?

Do I want to stay home, and follow routine,

Or choose a new path and follow unseen.

For the choice is but mine, in all that I do,

I can choose boredom, or give it up too,

For it’s only but me, who gets to decide,

And live this life, not live it in hide.

I want to fly high, I want to be free,

I want to see oceans ahead of me,

As I stand in awe, in all I adore,

I want this new life, and more and more.

To do it alone, not live it for two,

For all that I am, and all that I do,

One life and one chance, to set sail and go,

And live a new life, in glitter and glow.

The decision is yes, adventure oh please,

May you open my soul, and fill it in tease,

Don’t let me stop, ’til I wander and wow,

I choose this desire, destiny knows how.

For all that I want, is a life of pure bliss,

Chasing those dreams, that I get to kiss,

So open my soul and fill up this heart,

Oh wanderful life, create me this art.

Stepping those stones, walking my lane,

Living in joy, again and again,

Jump for the sky, skip to the sun,

May I keep chasing, until I feel done.
