Do you ever look for books like Bridget Jones that have that cosy high vibe feeling? Do you love ‘boy meets girl’ anticipation that has you savoring every page as you live vicariously through the characters? Or maybe, you are in ‘dry January’ and just need a little escapism to break the hold of those damn wine bottles which are waving back at you in a look of ‘you know you want me, baby’!
Well my little cupcake, whilst I don’t pretend to be Helen Fielding, (or your accountability partner to get you through to the end of January without even a sniff of the red stuff crossing your lips), what I can promise is a comedy that will have you hooked from the get go. And which will leave you feeling just that little bit happier about life!
Welcome to a new romantic comedy fiction What Would Carrie Do? (the first in the three-part series: Curiously Carrie: A Rebel’s Guide To Happiness). I couldn’t feel happier with what I’ve created in this first book. You can read the first three chapters on Amazon via the ebook free sample text. Early feedback has been fantastic. So, looking for books like Bridget Jones?
Well, my little cupcake, if you love books like Bridget Jones, you will love this too. Think of it as a generous serving of Bridget Jones, a dash of Mr Bean and a pinch of Sex And The City! And all blended into a delicious smoothie. (Jump to the bookshop and have a read at the storyline).
In a nutshell, it’s a rollercoaster of emotion, (only the good stuff!) that will have you wanting to savor each page and not want it to end (at least that’s what I’ve been told LOL). I wanted to create a love story that has STRETCH. And by this, I mean two people who love taking time to savor the thrills, unexpectedness and unfolding of a very flirty relationship. And the other characters are incredibly funny too!
This book is like a young child at Christmas riding the wave of anticipation with that infectious and unmistakeable eagerness. You begin to realise the power of anticipation is where life is at its best. Doesn’t a love story begin with the idea of someone? The unveiling of an unpredictable trail is bliss after bliss after bliss and what this story is all about…
The power of living in anticipation
In 2022, when I began writing, I wanted to capture the intensity of emotion between two people and how the anticipation of a kiss can often be just as intense as the kiss itself. In What Would Carrie Do?, I wanted everything to come through the heart and one scene in particular took me a whole month to write. I loved it so much, that even I didn’t want it to end.
With years of solo travel under my belt, many of the characters have been inspired by people, events and places I’ve experienced. And who knows, it may well influence you to savor the NEW and ANTICIPATION of the bliss that you can find anywhere.

Until next time my little pickle…XO
