I’m a solo travel expert and founder of Wanderful Company, a solo female travel blog inspired by 15 glorious years of non-stop traveling alone.

Bienvenue ma petite macaron….

Born with an incessant desire for adventure, I left the UK in 2005 with nothing more than a well-packed suitcase, a ton of self-belief, and a one-way ticket abroad.

Having gone from one solo travel adventure to the next for almost one-third of my life, I’ve been traveling solo to countries including Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Borneo, Italy, and France.

I love teaching adventure-hungry women in their forties and fifties how to travel alone and fall in love with it.

Why a solo female travel blog?

Have you ever thought about traveling alone? Have you had doubts if you’d like it? Do you want to go traveling solo and feel safe?

Traveling alone is one of the most exhilarating and life-changing activities you could ever do as a 40+ woman.

Traveling alone is for you whether you are single, divorced, and yes even married. Moreover, people are changing lifestyles and craving freedom from the daily grind of work, sleep, eat, repeat.

Like many people, I had been stuck in a rut on many occasions. It was the main reason I went traveling alone in the first place (thank you boredom by the way).

I aim to inject fun, ideas, and fabulosity into your day that will have you buzzing to book your first solo travel adventure.

What is here for the readers?

The Be Wanderful blog is a treasure chest of inspiration, ideas, and insight for all things solo travel including travel-inspired beauty products, fashion, food and not forgetting tips and tricks on living ‘wanderfully’.

A regular weekly blog, Be Wanderful is loaded with freshness and humor with the sole intention of uplifting wannabe solo travelers who are up for the journey! Heck yeah, don’t we all need it?

As a female solo travel blog, I cannot wait to share some of my hilarious solo travel stories. Along with regular tips on traveling alone as a woman, I aim to bring you a laugh or two.

Hopefully, they’ll have you jumping up and down in excitement at the idea of traveling alone. After all, isn’t JOY what we’re all about.

Be Wanderful promises to be an online space that practically guarantees content to be happy and fun. In a time where wellness and mindset are prevalent, this is one area that’s very important to me in creating a business where people can feel good.

Why do I choose to travel alone?

Personally, it is both the exciting challenge of seeing what I am capable of and naturally for the freedom and feeling of being on vacation 365 days a year. I can happily say I wouldn’t have it any other way and for those who dare, the rewards are life-changing.

How would I describe this solo female travel blog?

I like to say amusingly, it’s:

50g of Bridget Jones,

25g of Mr Bean,

25g of Sex in the City,

A generous tablespoon of Sophie Loren

A pinch of 007…shaken not stirred naturally.

Blend ingredients and bake. Best served with a splash of warm honey.

Et voila, bon appetit mes amies!

What can you expect?

Here are just a few things that are coming up in the next few months:

My personal travel stories

Solo travel tips and tricks

My sample itineraries

Top 50 French phrases that every solo traveler should know

Ma Petite Classe – a FREE French class

My monthly recipe guide (don’t miss my yummy macaroon recipe)

What other things are coming up on this solo female travel blog?

A few topics coming soon…

• Traveling alone became my best anti-aging treatment.

• My views on why most French women can eat what they want and stay thin.

Be Wanderful is also about sampling ‘luxury for less’ in beauty products, food, and wine influenced by my years of traveling alone.

From beauty tips to artisan perfumes to hand-crafted leather goods to unique accessories, I’m very excited to share these hidden gems, some of which you’ll soon be able to buy in the Wanderful Shop.

Think of Little Miss Bridget giving you a weekly dose of the happy pills with a round-up of the goings-on from the sunny waters of the Mediterranean. And let’s not forget the language tips from ‘ciao amore’ to the ‘oh la la’ to ‘bonjour ma petite chou’.

Language tips to exercise the brain? I’ve got you covered girl!

Foreign recipes that will have your friends impressed? Count on me.

Best kept secrets from those luxury for less brands? Watch this space.

No BS! Just honest, heartfelt content.

Why I created Wanderful Company?

As a solo travel expert, I can speak authentically of the pros and cons of traveling alone as a 40+ woman who wants to feel safe no matter where I go.

I’ve come to recognize that many women are searching for the same thing that I was back in 2005. This was why I came up with the idea and inspiration behind Be Wanderful.

From health, happiness, and hilariousness to glowing, glamour, and gorgeousness, we should never settle for a life of average.

Mostly, my biggest desire is that this blog will ignite your sense of adventure and take the fun to new heights so you too can experience the mind-blowing, life-changing benefits of solo travel.

Furthermore, Be Wanderful isn’t just a labor of love, it’s a lifetime of adventure that has played out in remarkable ways. As a result, it has given me incredible freedom, fun, and feelings on a level that had been unknown to me before I went traveling alone.

Those same feelings I chase unapologetically today and are the driving force behind all that I do.

What is my solo female travel blog background?

At the age of 12, I was blessed with a summer vacation to Switzerland in the stunning region of Interlaken. It was my first ever trip abroad and an experience that planted the seeds of adventure firmly in my soul and thankfully has never left.

I’m guessing you’ve never met anyone who fell in love with cuckoo clocks and Swiss cowbells lol!

Almost 40 years on, 60+ countries visited, I cannot begin to describe the life-changing experiences that have been sprinkled along my path and that inspire and uplift me today. Most importantly, I’ve true freedom to the point that every day feels like I’m on vacation.

And finally…fun

Wanderful Company is a travel + lifestyle brand that aims to put the fun back into life and a lot of laughs along the way.

I take an observational and comedic look at life from the funny things you find when you just stop, slow down, and look eg from the coziness of a cafe terrace.

Be Wanderful blog posts are to lighten your day, bring you fun, fill you with laughter, bring you some escape, bring you a smile, and bring you happiness. Above all, they’ll elevate your imagination about all things solo travel.

For those who love movies like ‘Midnight in Paris, this blog will also include some musical references dotted throughout to get these ”happy’’ juices flowing and blow that imagination into overdrive.

As you read, don’t be tempted to skip any of them. Put on your headphones, close your eyes and listen at full volume and see just let yourself FLY.

Finally, thank you for taking the time to be here. I know we’re all busy little bees most of the time. That being said, I’m sure we’ll have a lot of fun as the weeks and months go by sharing stories on all things SOLO TRAVEL.

Salute my friend, jump on board our virtual private jet ladies, (fingers crossed) haha. Let’s chin-chin a glass of champagne and here’s to many years traveling alone and being in Wanderful Company together.

A bientot mes amis!
